About me
My name is Lindsay Round and I am a BACP registered counsellor based in Leeds (MBACP).
I want the people I work with to feel comfortable and heard.
How I work
My training is in integrative counselling and psychotherapy, meaning that I adapt my approach to the needs of the people I work with.
For some, this might mean working together in discussion to identify the patterns that are keeping them stuck or dissatisfied with life. Others might prefer a more goal-oriented approach to develop the skills to manage anxiety and lessen its impact in everyday life.
At the heart of successful therapy is a strong working relationship, and the clients I work with feel understood and cared for.
Values
I believe in inclusive approaches to counselling and psychotherapy and enjoy working with a diverse range of people and experiences. I work with clients from a range of cultures and backgrounds, and hold myself responsible for continually developing and learning to bridge those differences.
I have always loved working with people and helping them see their capacity for growth. I believe therapy should allow people to go at their own pace, and that there is not one ‘formula’ that fits all. I want to help my clients to feel less burdened by shame and grow their sense of satisfaction in themselves and their lives.
Some of the issues I work with include:
Anxiety and overwhelm
Stress
Burnout
Depression
Bereavement
Low mood/dissatisfaction with life
Relationship breakdown
Isolation and loneliness
Feelings of shame
Self doubt and imposter syndrome
Low self esteem
Self-criticism
Experiences of prejudice and discrimination
Feeling stuck
…and many more. If you would like to explore whether working with me would be a good fit for you, simply book in for a free consultation.
I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy and am a BACP registered counsellor and psychotherapist based in Leeds (MBACP). I have completed additional training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and enjoy the continuous learning that is a part of this work.
Prior to training I was a psychology teacher for many years, having graduated with a BSc in Psychology.
